“Thank you for your letter and for sharing with us the G200 Youth Forum 2016 Final Results. The Romanian Presidential Administration is currently developing a three-year long national public consultation on the future of education and research in Romania at the 2030 horizon, aimed at finding a common societal vision and country objectives, shaping a strategy and work-plan, which will then be used to support potential legal, policy and governance changes. In this context, the results of the G200 Youth Forum 2016 offer an interesting view on sport and youth policy, culture, education and media, as well as on aspects such as nurturing happiness among youth, mobility and internationalization of higher education, and tolerance in an increasingly globalized and multicultural world. The recommendations will be taken into account by our initiative and we appreciate the comprehensive perspective of youth around the world on these very important topics.”

“As the Director-General of the Mexican Institute of Youth (Instituto Mexicano de la Juventud, INJUVE), the national institution responsible for the design, coordination and implementation of youth policy in Mexico is very important to know the outputs of the Forum. Last year, in 2013, the IMJUVE headed the first-ever National Youth Consultation. During 3 months, we organized consultation forums in the 32 federal entities or States with the participation of more than 50, 000 people including young indigenous leaders, young people with disabilities, different political party representatives, civil society and NGO representatives, and technical observers who advise us in the methodology. It is very gratifying to note that our youth policy proposal is close to the results of the ninth G20 Youth Forum 2014, for example, the propositions about entrepreneurship, technology and innovation, education, global migration, ecology and environment, law and women rights, social rights and social affairs, gender equality, food security and job mobility. The “Final Results” has been a great opportunity to know experiences, best practices and solutions.”
Mr. Jose Manuel Romero Coello, Director-General, Mexican Institute of Youth, Mexico

“I was interested to read the G20 Youth Summit Communiqué and wish to ensure you that we share your concern at the unacceptability high number of unemployment young people across the world. That is why tackling youth unemployment should continue to be at the top of the G20 agenda. I note your recommendation on business development skills and generating a culture of youth entrepreneurship. I agree that creating an entrepreneurial culture among young people could be one way of addressing the youth unemployment problem and the European Commission has taken a number of measures to this end. May I ensure you that the recommendations of the social partners and those of other engaged groups , such as yours, provide valuable input for EU policymaking and for G20 process.”

“I strongly believe in enhancing the focus on youth involvement, empowerment and protection. Youth must be considered agents of change, encouraged to be active decision-making participants, and treated as vital assets in their communities. In recognition of youth’s critical stake in our future, the Secretary-General’s five-year action agenda includes a focus on deepening the existing youth programmes on employment, entrepreneurship, education political inclusion, citizenship and protection of rights. I commend you on your efforts which are very much aligned with these priorities.”

“At the outset, allow me to congratulate you on the success of the event and the pertinence of the Forum’s recommendations, which confirms that young people have both the will and the skills to engage as meaningful actors in the political, economic and social processes of their societies, while stressing the continued need to include them fully in such processes and to invest in the development of their capacities. Such priorities are very much in line with UNESCO’s work in the field, as defined in the Organization’s Operational Strategy on Youth for 2014 -2021.”
